Welcome to the REEL ACTION Prevention of Underage Drinking project and contest where teens use their talents to create :30 second videos to take REEL ACTION to reduce underage drinking, reel by reel. No special equipment or technical knowledge is needed to participate. In fact, some favorite past winners have had no video experience before entering REEL ACTION. Entries are judged and receive on-line votes to determine winners that are announced at a Red Carpet Première and Awards Ceremony at the Baxter Avenue Theatres in the Highlands area of Louisville, Ky. Selected video winners air on Movie Cinema screens, as commercials on major television channels (MTV, ESPN, BET, E! VH1, etc.) and been converted to radio commercials all to promote NOT DRINKING ALCOHOL UNDERAGE! Last year, winning videos aired MILLIONS of times to HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of households. After participating in REEL ACTION, teens reported feeling more knowledgeable about the risks and issues surrounding underage drinking and talking more with their friends, at school and with parents about underage drinking.
Contestants must be between the ages of 12 - 17 years old.
